The total estimated number of nerve cells or neurons in a fully developed brain is approximately 1 trillion. During the prenatal life or the period prior birth, the brain produces roughly 2.5 million neurons per minute. This makes the most critical and vital stage of human brain development since almost all of the nerve cells were generated under this period.
