9/2=7x-8/x+1, beacuse the denominator cannot be 0, so we can get x≠1. 
Then both side of the equation times x+1, and we can get 9(x+1)=2(7x-8).
and simplify the equation. 9x+9=14x-16, 5x=25, x=5.  Then, check the answer. And we can get the solution x=5.
