We are going to use the formula for the slope of the line with points A(2,5) and B(-8,-4). x1= 2, x2=-8, y1=5 and y2=-4

[tex]m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}=\frac{-4-5}{-8-2}=\frac{-9}{-10}=\frac{9}{10}[/tex]

The slope of the line is 9/10
