If DE and BC are parallel, their sides must be proportional.

2/x+1 = 5/4x-2
Use cross multiplication:
8x-4=5x+5
3x=9
x=3

Plug this in:
x: 3
AE: 3+1 = 4
CE: 4(3)-2 = 12-2 = 10
AB: 2 + 5 = 7
AC: AE+CE = 4 + 10 = 14
